Media release seeking entries for the 2022 Southern Grainfed Carcase Classic

WANT a chance to see how your genetics measure up against other cattle from southern Australia both in the feedlot and in the chiller?

The organisers of the 2022 Southern Grainfed Carcase Classic are seeking expressions of interest from breeders and backgrounders keen to enter one or multiple teams.

The proposed delivery date for the teams of 10 steers is Monday, January 31 with the cattle to be fed at Teys Charlton feedlot in the Vic Mallee for 100 to 120 days.

Presidents Report – 2021 The Year That Was

 As I write this final report for 2021, I reflect back on what has been an amazing year in the beef industry.  High prices have become the norm as records seem to tumble week after week throughout the saleyards and through the online format.  Bull sales have followed suit from the seedstock producers with outstanding results achieved from the Autumn right through to the Spring.  This was all achieved with COVID lockdowns being the norm for most states as the uncertainty of what lies ahead for some form of normality.
