Media release seeking entries for the 2022 Southern Grainfed Carcase Classic

WANT a chance to see how your genetics measure up against other cattle from southern Australia both in the feedlot and in the chiller?

The organisers of the 2022 Southern Grainfed Carcase Classic are seeking expressions of interest from breeders and backgrounders keen to enter one or multiple teams.

The proposed delivery date for the teams of 10 steers is Monday, January 31 with the cattle to be fed at Teys Charlton feedlot in the Vic Mallee for 100 to 120 days.

Presidents Report – 2021 The Year That Was

 As I write this final report for 2021, I reflect back on what has been an amazing year in the beef industry.  High prices have become the norm as records seem to tumble week after week throughout the saleyards and through the online format.  Bull sales have followed suit from the seedstock producers with outstanding results achieved from the Autumn right through to the Spring.  This was all achieved with COVID lockdowns being the norm for most states as the uncertainty of what lies ahead for some form of normality.

Shorthorn Beef appreciates the ever increasing demand from buyers for the most accurate EBV’s, Indexes and pedigree information when they are making purchasing decisions and the need for members to be able to supply these details as quickly and efficiently as possible.

To assist members with this, Shorthorn Beef can supply up to date information directly to your printing company. The files are sent electronically and can be downloaded straight into the printing companies files, to ensure a quick turnaround for you.

Catalogues can also be loaded onto the Shorthorn Beef website. This is an easy and cost effective way to gain maximum exposure for your sale list. On line catalogues are available for Auction sales, Private sales and also Semen sales and contain the latest EBV’s as well as a search function for clients. Online catalogues can also include, time, date and location of sales, comments on each lot (members to supply), photos on selected lots or all lots (members to supply) and agents logos and contact details.

Web links to your website or You-tube videos, as well as banner advertisements, assist by promoting your sale to a targeted audience at cost effective rates.
