REGISTRATION AND DATA ENTRY

The final extract of Shorthorn Beef pedigrees and phenotypes has been received from ABRI. The final extract contains all records from the last few months which is needed before the IGS system can go live for members.

As there will be no further extracts coming from ABRI, Shorthorn Beef request that members NO LONGER SUBMIT any new records to Breedplan OR use the current system to register calves. Please send all registrations and trait records to the Shorthorn Beef office for inclusion in the new IGS analysis.

It is expected that the new CGen software platform will be live by April 10th 2020 at the latest and Shorthorn Beef will also post training videos on how to manage your own registrations and data entry for your herd. Until members are comfortable with the new CGen software platform, the Shorthorn Beef office will process your records for you.

Between now and the 10th April, there will be an unavoidable window where new registrations are not processed, however as soon as the CGen system is able, we will process all records supplied over the next 2 weeks.

The Shorthorn Beef website has been updated with the new ShorGene pages which will explain much of the IGS system, so please check these out, under the ShorGene tab on the homepage.

About Shorthorn

The Shorthorn breed is truly unique, from their distinctive roan colour, to their rich breed history and most importantly, the wonderful community of breeders, there is nothing else quite like a Shorthorn.

The key to the Shorthorn breeds advantage lies in their balanced genetic profile, driven by market participation that has been developed and refined, after more than 200 years of genetic selection under Australian conditions.
