First time Shorthorn Exhibitors Liberty Charolais and Shorthorn stud have taken out the Interbreed Junior Champion Heifer at the Perth Royal Show. The 19-month old Liberty Nebraska, an embryo calf by Spry’s Patent’s Ace out of Crathes Elenor, topped the table.

Perth Royal Show Shines for Old and New

Something old, something new was certainly the flavour in the Perth Royal Show results. JT Country in the something old category had an outstanding day, placing in all of the Champion categories and taking out Supreme Exhibit with Narralda Newbie. Our something new was first time exhibitors Liberty Charolais and Shorthorn that took out the Junior Champion Female that went on to be Interbreed Junior Champion Female.

Youth shine at the Melbourne Royal Show this year

Judged by Troy Setter the younger champions under his eye went on to dominate the showing.

Sprys Carnation N16 exhibited by D & M Spencer and G & L Spry was firstly sashed Junior Champion Female and went on to take out Supreme Exhibit.

The Shorthorn breed is a vibrant and dynamic community to be part of. Membership is available to everyone, even if you don’t own any cattle.

It is a great, cost effective way, to keep up to date with all things Shorthorn in Australia and entitles you to many benefits.

Full membership in Shorthorn Beef entitles members to register their own stud as well as their own cattle. Full members who have also joined Shorthorn Group BREEDPLAN are entitled to have their animals included in the Shorthorn Group BREEDPLAN analysis.

Full membership is a voting membership and entitles the member to nominate for the Shorthorn Beef Board as well as vote for other nominees.

Full members are entitled to receive all publications from Shorthorn Beef including the Shorthorn Beef Magazine, Newsletter and E-News updates.

Full members also have access to the Members Only section of the website where members may download their forms, update details and register calves online.

Full membership costs $242 per year.

Associate membership entitles you to become a member of Shorthorn Beef, if you do not have a need to register cattle.

Associate members are entitled to receive all publications from Shorthorn Beef including the Shorthorn Beef Magazine and regular E-News updates.

Associate membership is a non voting membership.

Associate membership costs $55 per year.

SYCA-2Youth Membership

Youth membership is designed for Youth members up to the age of 25 years. Youth members are entitled to register their own stud and animals. Youth members who have also joined Shorthorn Group BREEDPLAN are entitled to have their animals included in the Shorthorn Group BREEDPLAN analysis.

Schools are also entitled to register animals without having to pay any inventory fees.

Youth members are also entitled to become part of the Shorthorn Youth Club. The Youth Club conducts a Handlers Camp each year and enjoys an excellent reputation for assisting Youth members become tomorrows leaders.

Youth members are entitled to receive all publications from Shorthorn Beef including the Shorthorn Beef Magazine and regular E-News updates.

Youth membership is a non voting membership.

Youth membership costs $11 per year.

International Associate membership is a great way for people to stay in touch with the Shorthorn Breed in Australia.

International Associate members are entitled to receive all publications from Shorthorn Beef including the Shorthorn Beef Magazine and regular E-News updates.

International Associate membership costs $50(AUD) per year.

Corporate membership is a great way to make sure your business is kept up to date with events in the Shorthorn breed.

Corporate members are entitled to receive all publications from Shorthorn Beef including the Shorthorn Beef Magazine and regular E-News updates.

It is also a great way to assist you to get your message out to all Shorthorn breeders and enthusiasts.

Corporate membership 1 Year membership costs $220 per year.

Corporate membership 2 Years membership costs $385 both years.

Corporate Membership of Shorthorn Beef is a non voting membership and accords the following benefits:

  • Receive a discount rate of 25% for advertising in the Shorthorn Beef magazine, published annually.
  • Receive a discount rate of 25% for advertising in the Shorthorn Beef Newsletters published quarterly.
  • Receive a discount rate of 25% for advertising in the Shorthorn Beef E-News published fortnightly.
  • Mail-out service to Shorthorn Beef members at cost.
  • Free direct email service to Shorthorn Beef members.
